Sand-Off™ is a product developed by a desire to simplify our lives. After years of living at the beach and dragging sand into our cars and homes, we had almost given up on finding an effective way of removing sand and leaving it on the beach. As our families grew to include children, we found it more difficult to get them clean for lunch on the beach or later for the ride home. Our kids were the motivators for the idea that eventually became the Sand-Off™ product.

When applying powder during a diaper change at the beach, we noticed that the sand that was previously stuck everywhere seemed to come off rather easily. We tried powder on other parts of the body and it worked reasonably well. However, it wasn’t very manageable since you have to carry a bottle of powder to the beach; it ends up everywhere, including the car. It also lacked convenience, because you had to use a towel or your hand to rub the powder into the skin, which tended to remove the powder or simply push it around, which made it less effective.

With all this in mind, we began to evaluate all-natural, talc-free powders in search of a far superior “sand remover” formulation. Using many combinations of drying powders and spending long hours at the beach (it wasn’t all work!), we finally came up with a blend that worked easily even in the presence of suntan lotion and perspiration. Next we needed to create a way to dispense the product in the right quantity while making it easy to use. After many prototypes we arrived at the product available today. The mitt uses a plush terry cloth applicator that dispenses the powder evenly throughout the life of the product. Through our trials we found that the product works great on grass clippings, insulation residue, dry wall, and almost any particulate that gets stuck to your skin (we don’t spend all our time at the beach…).

We have done our best to bring you a high quality product in a convenient package. We hope you love this product as much as we do. For us, we can’t imagine going to the beach without it!
